Introduction:
You will be researching people and/or events from Billy Joel’s song We Didn’t Start the Fire. You will use your research to create mini posters answering questions about your assigned topics.
Mini Poster:
You will be responsible for creating a mini poster for each person or event assigned to you. You will be given some background information regarding your topics. This will not be enough to complete the assignment. You must then go online and research more (see recommended sites). You will have 4 days in class to work on this (May be less if your class are assigned less than 3 events). Your posters should be no larger than a sheet of construction paper. You can create the mini poster online and print it or create the whole poster by hand.
REQUIREMENTS
· You will need a picture of your person/event
· Poster title*
· You need to answer at least the following questions for each person or event:
1. Tell about the person or event and what happened. (Dates, places, etc.)
2. Why was this event or person so important in history that Billy Joel would mention it/them in his song? And
3. Does this person or event in some way have an effect on your life today? Explain.
*Your poster title should be the lyrics from the song in which your topic addresses.
